Privacy Policy

TL;DR version: all sites  (prysmcat.com, prysmatic.com, and any subdomains) are offered with no intention of gathering or using private data. The sole purpose is to offer access to and information about Prysmcat Books releases and related posts and content, eg, serialized fiction. I have zero interest in or use for your personal data and will try my best not to acquire it. But,  requirements being what they are, I’ll do my best to spell things out below.

General Policy

Since there are no registered users on these domains other than the admins, there is no personal data to leak other than the minimal amount associated with comments.

If you click on a link that goes off prysmatic.com or prysmcat.com, you will then be on a different site and we are not responsible for their politicies or behaviour, but links off-site should be minimal and are most likely to point to other methods of accessing Prysmcat content.

Images are hosted locally. Fonts might not be.

Federation

It’s important to note that while this site exists within the Fediverse, we do not make personal information available to the public. The same data is publicly available that would be available if this site were not federated. However, comments are visible outside this location. If this makes you uncomfortable but you’d still like to leave feedback, or have any other concerns, please feel free to email me at steph (at) prysmatic.com

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Who we share your data with

No one.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Nowhere. Our spam blocking is on-site and your comments are not rerouted elsewhere to be checked. If this changes (which is unlikely), this notice will be updated.
